Apart from Eastern European and other countries, and their often tinpot governments, which are a never-ending mine of bizarre information, credit should be given to www.russianartgallery.com for their supply of fine social realistic pictures (which even today, in many places, are far from realistic - and do they now have 'social'?). Unfortunately, most of these are sold, but I am sure they might procure for you some other examples. Dusty, crumbling mosaics off official buildings they cannot supply.
Also to wikipedia which supplied a very nice painting of the great chairman himself.
